DIY Homemade Healthy Salad

 Quick and easy meal
HIGH in Nutrients & LOW in Calories & Fat
We all know that salad is a healthy option for anytime of the day. Today I would like to share my DIY salad recipe with you all. As you can see in the picture, it's fine to add any vegetables that you prefer but I tried to remain with my MUST-HAVE yummy and crunchy ingredients for the recipe. Okay pretties..........so let's get started ! :)

My choice of ingredients (for 2 servings)

  1. 1 Green Lettuce head
  2. a few Broccoli
  3. 1 Carrot
  4. 12 Cherry tomatoes
  5. 3 Strawberries
  6. 2 Hard boiled eggs
  7. 2 slices of Wholemeal bread (optional)
  8. Organic Feta Cheese
  9. 1 tsp of olive oil
  10. Pepper
  11. Japanese sesame dressing
Time to prepare the vegetables !
I'm preparing for two servings for the day so a head of lettuce would be enough for us. If you want to save time, you can also buy mixed greens or a bag of ready salad :)
Okay so, after break off all the leaves of the lettuce, I make sure that they are washed very well. Leave them dry while preparing the other vegetables and fruits. Then, you can cut the carrots, broccoli, cherry tomatoes and strawberries in whatever design you want =D ......hmmm.... these strawberries smell so gooooood ! ♥v♥
 Toast the bread
Who likes the tastes of having a bite of crispy bread !? I recommend using the wholemeal bread to minimize the calories & fat. Heat up those two babies to 100 degrees and leave them about 20 minutes. No wasting your time, let's proceed to prepare one of the Top 10 healthiest foods.
 Stir fry broccoli & carrot
Broccoli is high in vitamin C and dietary fiber. Most of the people like to eat the carrots raw but it's a "NO NO" for me -_- So what I've done is that I quickly stir fry the carrots & broccoli with 1 tsp of heated olive oil. Then put a bit of table salt and pepper. Save our time and cook for only 5 minutes so that the crunchiness still remains.
"More importantly, we do not want to loose the nutritions inside ! :)"

 Time to mix ! ! !
All the vegetables are ready and now it's time to throw them in the salad ! One of the fun parts of doing your own salad at home :) Similar to all the salad out there in the world, we are gonna add the green lettuce first. Then Follow with the cutest cherry tomatoes and delicious strawberries.
" Who doesn't love EGGS !? They are for extra protein in your salad "
You can keep your salad vegetarian if you want and it still gives you all the nutrients. I'm afraid I couldn't live without EGGS :D

People use feta cheese mostly in Greek Salads. Its flavour is tangy and salty so you might not want to put this too much! O_o Also has the creamy texture so yum yum !!♥
 Salad Dressing
For the dressing part, you can make your own style but to save time, I usually use the ready made one. It's deep-roasted sesame dressing from Japan which mainly contains soybean & sesame.
Now it's time to add the broccoli and carrot to decorate your salad! Eat well with the healthiest food broccoli.....nom nom... :P

After that, you may start cutting your toasted breads and throw them into your salad! I have friends who really hate wholemeal bread, no idea but as I've mentioned earlier... it's UP TO YOU ! :)

"and.....you are done !"
